According to the new directive issued by HRD Ministry, it is mandatory for all medical colleges across the country to register themselves and provide updated information for the All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE). AISHE’s officials said that the new system will make the ranking process easier.
Meanwhile, all the medical institutions in Maharashtra have already started working on the same. The Maharashtra University of Health Sciences - MUHS has directed all the medical institutes of the state to register themselves and update all the required information.
The institutes are required to update the following information:
- Details of the College
- Financial Information and Infrastructure
- Programmes Offered
- Details of Teachers and Non-Teaching Staff
- Scholarship Information and Academic Details

Praveen Ghatekar, AISHE, Nodal Officer, Medical Colleges Maharashtra, said that they are expecting 100% response from all the medical colleges of the state. Also, any medical college which will not register themselves within the given time frame will be barred from applying for the renewal of affiliation. More colleges are updating their information for three years and there has been a subsequent increase since last year. From 60-65% colleges in 2017, the number has gone up to 90% this year which is remarkable in itself.
He further informed that all the 346 colleges affiliated to MUHS will be directed to update the information at the earliest.

The link to update the information is available on the official website of AISHE since 1st October 2018 and the last date to provide data inputs will be notified soon.
