The Ministry of Human Resource and Development has initiated the process for the appointment of a new director for Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT). The director of VNIT, NS Chaudhari was given charge of MANIT a few months back after the transfer of former director, Appu Kuttan.
The appointment will be made on contract basis for a period of five years or until the attainment of the age of 70 years. The applicant who is applying for the post of the director must be below 65 years of age. MHRD has also invited applications for the post of director in NIT, Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Puducherry, Sikkim, and Srinagar.
According to the sources, the director of NIT is expected to have proven his administrative, research and teaching background.
