MHT CET CAP Round 2 Seat Allotment 2022: Note for TFWS Candidates

Those candidates who have been allotted seats in the TFWS category cannot change their branch later on after 1st year. Institutional branch change after the first year of the degree course is common and allowed for the candidates who have been allotted seats in all categories other than the TFWS quota. Candidates who wish for a TFWS quota admission in a certain branch only shall note this before opting to Freeze their seat.

MHT CET CAP Round 2 Seat Allotment 2022: How are seats allotted?

The seat allotment is processed based on their General State Merit Rank as per the following sequence:

1. Open, Reserved, Male, Female, Tuition Fee Waiver candidates are first considered for open or unreserved seats based on their Inter-se-merit. Only EWS candidates will first be considered in the EWS reservation category as per their inter-se-merit, then in the open category.
2. OBC candidates shall be considered for allotment in the open category first as per their inter-se-merit, and if open category seats are not available, they will then be considered in their respective reservation category.
3. SBC candidates who were earlier in the OBC category shall be considered for allotment in the open category first as per their inter-se-merit, and if open category seats are not available, they will then be considered in the OBC reservation category.

How is MHT CET CAP Round 2 Seat Allotment 2022 made?

The seat allotment is made as per the State General Merit Rank only, although the ranks are allotted in various categories such as State General Merit Rank, Category Rank, Home/Other University Rank, etc. If the candidate comes under a reservation category or quota, then their seat will be allotted in the reserved seats for their respective category/quota as per their State General Merit Rank and not the category/quota-wise merit rank. Even so, the allocation is made in the category-wise reservation only if the candidate's merit is not available in general or open seats.

MHT CET CAP Round 2 Seat Allotment 2022: Average College Fees

The college fees differ from institution to institution. The average fee for B.E/B.Tech degrees for AY 2022-23 is INR 1,00,000/- (subject to increase or decrease with respect to the institution), not considering the category-wise concessions. The ad-hoc fee for 2022-23 for engineering courses is INR 80,000/-, of which INR 72,273/- is the Tuition Fee and the rest INR 7,727/- is the Development Fee.

While there is no distinct choice provided to refuse the seat like Freeze and Betterment, the candidate who does not want their current allocation at all can refuse their allotted seat by not paying the seat acceptance fee.  Such candidates will be considered for new allotment during the next round if they submit a new option form.  It is preferable to provisionally accept the seat than refuse it.

MHT CET CAP Round 2 Seat Allotment 2022: What are TFWS seats?

TFWS stands for Tuition Fee Waiver System. The candidates whose parents' annual income is less than 8 LPA are eligible for TFWS seats. Those candidates who have been allotted a TFWS seat will not have to pay the tuition fees for their entire degree course. TFWS seats are 5% of the total seat intake and the seats allotted to it are not reserved for any category. TFWS seats are allotted only on the merit of the candidate, thus its cutoffs are higher than that of regular seats.

Is seat acceptance fee to be repaid if allotment is modified in Round 2?

If a candidate's round 1 allotment is modified after MHT CET CAP round 2 seat allotment 2022, the seat acceptance fee will be transferred from the previously allotted institute to the recently allotted institute. If once paid during any round, the seat acceptance fee is not to be paid again.

MHT CET CAP Round 2 Seat Allotment 2022: What is Betterment?

Those candidates who have been allotted a seat other than preference 1 but are not satisfied with their current allocation can go for betterment i.e., participation in Round 3 counselling. Such candidates will only have to report online and pay the seat acceptance fee (Rs. 1,000/-), if not already paid in round 1. If the fee is not paid, the candidates will still be eligible for participation in Round 3 but they will not have any claim to their current allocation. Thus, it is advised to accept the seat and go for betterment than rejecting the seat and going for betterment.

As it suggests, Auto-Freeze seats are those seats where the candidates do not have a betterment choice. All those who have been allotted Preference #1 seats as per their option form will have their seats auto-freezed i.e. no betterment option. If such candidates do not take admission at their allotted institute by offline visiting between November 1 to 3, their allotted seat will be cancelled. Furthermore, such candidates will also be ineligible for further counselling rounds.
