"Our partnership with the Agastya International Foundation is an endeavour to introduce students to various educational concepts through imaginative and creative experiments. This will help open up vistas of learning that kindle curiosity in their minds," said ISF trustee Srinath Batni, according to IANS.
On 23rd Feb’16 the Agastya International Foundation (AIF) launched a mobile science lab in collaboration with the Infosys Science Foundation (ISF).
This initiative is launched with a motive to make the government school children more creative and curious and give them the basic amenities.
Mobile Labs are one of the largest science outreach programs in the world. Following are their advantages.
- Hands-on and interactive
- Children and teachers exposed to new ideas, methods
- Link to school syllabus
- Peer-to-peer instruction
- Multiple interactions
- Science fairs
- Extensive day and night coverage
- Cost effective, scalable and replicable
- Mega Science Fairs
This initiative would help make the Indian education system a little modern. This would help eliminate effects of lack of sufficient infrastructure and limited access to experiential learning.
