The symposium on “Modelling and computation” held at Indian Institute of Technology ( IIT Patna ) under the aegis of the National Mathematics Initiative (NMI) – DST and in collaboration with IISc Bangalore.
The main aim of the symposium was, ‘the diversity & application - oriented character of the discipline that always attracts the scientists & researchers. Both the modelling & the computation largely rely on the computers & available software. With the fast pace of development in the computing facilities, keeping everyone abreast of the recent state of art development is essential. The symposium aims at bringing renowned speakers gather at one place and discuss the current trend in modelling and simulations.’ The computational model requires the extensive computational resources in order to study the behaviour of the complex system by the computer simulation. The conference also deals with the complex and non-linear system for any simple and intuitive analytical solution is not easily available. The solutions in these topics are dealt by adjusting the parameters of the system in computers and studying the outcomes of experiments.
Indian Institute of Technology Patna is one of the new IITs established by an act of parliament on August 06, 2008. It runs from its transit campus in Patliputra Colony, Patna
Patna which was known as Patliputra has been a center of knowledge since long has been attracting visitors and scholars from many parts of the world such as China, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Sri Lanka, among others. This has been a land of visionaries. Some of the historical legends from this region include Lord Gautam Buddha, Lord Mahavir, Guru Gobind Singh, the famous astronomer Aryabhata and the first President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad.
IIT Patna has three schools – (1) School of Engineering consisting of the following Departments namely, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Civil & Environmental Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering (2) School of Basic Sciences consisting of Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics Departments (3) School of Humanities consisting of Humanities & Social Science Department.
