Modi Government is planning will bring a legislation in Parliament to establish Skill Universities in every state, to create a large pool of skilled workforce in the country. "Prime Minister had directed that to achieve this objective (skill development). We will have to set up Skill Universities and work with states to achieve the goal. We are confident that in the coming days we will bring in a legislation in Parliament to make an attempt to establish a Skill University in every state,” revealed Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Skills Development while delivering his speech at World Youth Skill Day. “The government has decided to train around 60,000 defence Personnel in the last year of their service to impart skills training or become entrepreneurs,” he added further. He also revealed that the steps the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is taking to turn the Prime Minister's vision of a skilled India into reality and importance of strategic partnerships in achieving the Skill India vision.
