More than 550 Scientist Returned India for Research in Biotechnology

Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship is a renowned programme of Biotechnology. This wonderful opportunity provides a programme for researchers in the field of biotechnology which was initiated in the year 2006-07. The aim of this prestigious programme was to bring back the Indian Scientists home and provide them with enough opportunities to grow and flourish in the field. Minister of Science and Technology Mr Jitendra Singh stated at the 36 th foundation day function of the Department of Biotechnology that most of our Indian Scientists are showing up their interest and passion to return to India to get benefitted from the research opportunities and careers, which are made available in the country. Mr Singh also said that the field of biotechnology has been receiving great support from the government as well as the private sector. India has a unique place in the world, especially in the field of the Biotech department. India is in the top 12 biotechnology destinations in the world.

The minister released a directory for the Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship. The Directory is about the New Guidelines for Ease of Doing Science: Towards Less Government More Governance. Mr Jitendra said that the department of Biotechnology has in fact created 15 autonomous institutions across the country. One such International Institution is located in New Delhi.   One of the senior officials stated that out of these 550-research scientists, three hundred of them are into the institutions of science and technology across the nation. The department of Biotechnology provides greater and ample opportunities to grow in the field.
