The Maharashtra assembly election dates are 21st October 2019 and 22nd October 2019. The dates, however, are clashing with 68 examinations at the University of Mumbai (MU) as result of which the officials from the varsity have stated that the examinations that are scheduled on 21st and 22nd October 2019, will be rescheduled. They added that the varsity has released the rescheduled dates for the MU exams on the official website of MU.
There are 303 papers that have postponed under 68-degree exams. Out of the 303 papers, 60 papers from the field of science and technology, 57 from commerce and management and 165 papers from the Humanities stream have been postponed. There are 21 papers from 13 Interdisciplinary subjects. The varsity stated that they had prepared the exam timetable prior to the announcement of the assembly poll dates. The students will be able to check the revised time table on the official website of Mumbai University.

Sources have stated that the varsity will commence the examinations as has been scheduled by them, i.e. On 1st October 2019. However, the dates that are clashing with the assembly election dates have been rescheduled.
Commerce, Science and Arts streams exams will have few of their subjects affected by the assembly poll dates. Sources state that the exam dates for the third year (TY) B.Com , TY BA and TY B.Sc will be rescheduled along with all the other examinations scheduled for 21st and 22nd October 2019.

As far as the city schools are concerned, they will remain shut during the Diwali week. However, schools may have to reschedule examination dates that will fall under teacher training dates for the elections. A teacher from Hansraj Morarji Public School, Uday Nare, stated that even though the school examinations are set to be over by 21st October 2019, most of the teachers will be busy in the teacher training for the election which will clash with the school exam dates. The teacher’s organisations have been protesting against the casual attitude towards the allocation of election duties.
