Mumbai University in its fourth attempt has managed to appoint an agency for the online assessment of the answer sheets of the final year students.
The on-screen evaluation process is already delayed by several days since the university has failed to choose an agency for three times in the past days. Finally, on April 27, the institute appointed MeritTrac, an Andheri-based company, for evaluation of the answer sheets online.

The online evaluation process will be carried out with the advanced technology, CCTV surveillance and biometric access. Approx. fifty scanners and image enhancers will be set up in the Kalina campus. Over fifteen hundred answer sheets can be scanned by using one scanner. Around 250 people, 50 officers are to be appointed for scanning and uploading the sheet.
Beginning from 4 th May, after the firm sets up the required infrastructure, the answer sheets of the university will be evaluated online through on-screen marking. It will scan over 19 lakh answer paper of all undergraduate and postgraduate courses onscreen. Sanjay Deshmukh, Vice-Chancellor Mumbai University told that the answer sheets of priority subjects will be assessed first and will be enabled for on-screen evaluation.
