The University of Mumbai has completed the evaluation process of 90% answer sheets. The deadline set by the Chancellor of the varsity, C. Vidyasagar Rao will end on July 31, 2017. As per sources, Mumbai University is yet to complete the evaluation process of three lakh answer sheets. According to sources, Mumbai University is likely to declare the results on July 31, 2017. The varsity had sought the help from universities of Aurangabad, Pune, Nagpur and Kolhapur for the fast completion of the evaluation process. Mumbai University has been successful in evaluating 17,36,145 answer sheets.

So far, Mumbai University had declared the results of 153 exams in various streams. The details of the results are given below: -
- The varsity had declared 78 results in the arts stream.
- 48 results in technology stream have been declared.
- A total number of 10 results have been declared in science stream.
- Only seven results are out in commerce stream.
- The varsity has declared 10 results in management stream.
Recently, the state government had expressed disappointment over the delay in the declaration of results. The online assessment process adopted by university delayed the evaluation process, as there wasn’t proper mechanism. Last year, the online evaluation process was delayed due to server breakdown. Few student organisations and political parties also threatened the varsity they would launch a protest if the varsity fails to declare results by July 31, 2017.
The government assured that it will take steps to regulate such kind of delay in the next academic session.
