The Department of State Women and Child Development issued a notification stating that the University of Mumbai is failed to add 1% reservation Quota in the reservation circular for the orphanage children.
In the recent admission circular issued by Mumbai University, the orphaned student living in the orphanages whose documents did not mention a caste or any information about parents and relatives failed to have one per cent reservation Quota in the admission circular. The university failed to add the orphan quota to the list last year as well. To rectify the same, a letter regarding the same was sent to the authorities about the reservation. Even after, constant reminders and circular the reservation for the orphaned students was not added to the list for the 2019-20 academic year

The members of the Organization said that if the reservation matter of the orphaned is not rectified then they will protest against the University of Mumbai. The spoke person of Mumbai University said that all resolutions of the government would be followed. He also said If a particular reservation has been missed by any varsity, the appropriate changes will be made.
