The official results portal of the University of Mumbai is still inactive for the third consecutive day due to a technical glitch. However, the officials of the varsity claimed that the results portal was functional throughout the day on August 29, 2017. The results portal has become inactive since the varsity declared the results of Commerce stream. Students who were anxious to check the results were disappointed as they were unable to access the official results portal of Mumbai University due to a severe connectivity issue. An official associated with the varsity revealed that the reason that resulted in a technical glitch is still unknown.

The assessment process also slowed down due to heavy rains on August 29, 2017 and only 145 teachers turned up for the assessment. On August 29, the varsity was able to complete the assessment process of only 5,847 papers. Since 25 August, the number of evaluators has been low, as many of them availed leave because of Ganesh Chaturthi. The varsity is yet to evaluate over one lakh papers, and it is likely to miss the deadline it had promised to High Court of Bombay. The varsity was supposed to declare the results of all the exams by August 31, 2017.

So far, the varsity has declared the results of commerce, arts and science streams. However, the results of many students have been put on hold due to various reasons. Answer sheets of most of these students are untraceable, and it is taking a lot of time for authorities to sort out the issue. However, the varsity assured that it would declare the withheld results within 10 days. Helpline centres have been working consistently to sort the issues of the students.
