Nagpur has been allotted an examination centre for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) to be held on May 8, 2016. The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Patiala, which is in-charge of the prestigious exam, has made GH Raisoni Polytechnic, located at Shradha Park on Hingna-Wadi Link Road in MIDC as one of the exam centres for CLAT 2016 exam.
Until now, there was only one exam centre for CLAT in Maharashtra, in Mumbai. Mumbai houses the National Law University and Nagpur is the second city in the state of Maharashtra to have a National Law University.
From the academic year 2016, National Law University Nagpur will start it's first batch. The CLAT exam will be conducted online across 17 centers on May 8 and results will be announced on May 23 with declaration of merit list.
Basis marks obtained in CLAT 2016, admissions to all 18 Natioanl Law universities in India will be conducted.
There are only 17 NLUs in country and CLAT was conducted in rotation by each one of them for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. Latest to join them is Mumbai MNLU that started operations since 2015. Like Nagpur MNLU, even Mumbai branch had missed CLAT registration deadline and then conducted its own entrance test for admissions.
