Adikavi Nannaya University launched Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga on account of International Yoga Day. The course will come into effect from the academic year 2016-17. Vice Chancellor of the University, Acharya Mutyala Naidu gave the details about the course.
He said, “The one year PGD in Yoga will come into effect from this academic year. The course has been launched in collaboration with Sri Raparthi Rama Institute of Yoga. Yoga got international recognition and now-a-days most of the youth are keen in learning yoga. The course includes four subjects. The fee for the course is Rs. 10,000. Lecturers from RRIY will teach yoga for the students”.
On this occasion, the importance of yoga has been addressed by the vice chancellor. He said, “Practicing yoga is good for health. It reduces pressure and gives peace of mind. One can be physically and mentally fit if he/she practices yoga regularly. Keeping all these aspects in view, the University has taken a step forward to introduce course in Yoga”.
