The ECE and CSE Departments of Narayana Engineering College organized a national seminar on ‘Emerging Trends in communication Engineering’ on 1-June-2016. The Chief Guest of the occasion was Dr. SK Noor Ahmed, Professor, Geetanjali Engineering College. He inaugurated the seminar by lightening the lamp. On this occasion, he presented his paper on the theme ‘Emerging Trends in communication Engineering’ of the seminar.
Addressing the gathering he said, “There is a lot of demand for the communication engineering. The engineering students must develop skills in communication engineering on par with soft skills and communication skills. The IT sector is playing an important role in bringing out drastic changes in the advancement of technology”.
He also mentioned that “Over the last year we have seen heightened interest in the Internet of Things (IoT) and of Everything (IoE) including several acquisitions by major players such as Google’s purchase of Nest Labs for $3.2 billion. Bob Metcalfe, inventor of the Ethernet, said that the power of a network increases proportionally by the square of the number of users (Metcalfe's Law) which puts IoT –forecasted to be 50 billion connections by 2020- in a powerful and strategic position. The challenge that a lot of people faces is that everything sits in isolation thus a standard is must, and many see this happening in 2015”.
Chief Guest was felicitated by the CSE and ECE department. Seminar was attended by the eminent scholars, faculty members and students.
