National Recruitment Agency: Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Minister of State for Personnel in a Rajya Sabha told that National Recruitment Agency is established in the country as per the announcement made in the budget of 2020-21. NRA is an independent and specialist organization that will conduct the Common Eligibility Test for recruitment. It will do recruitment only for Non-Gazetted posts.
It is made with a view that candidates don’t have to go through the trouble of filling different forms for different exams as well as appear for them again and again. This will ease both the financial burden as well as mental burden the candidates face throughout their exam journey.
As per the latest reports, an Expert Advisory Committee has already been set in place by NRA to recommend various things like the common Syllabus and scheme for the CET. It has been planned that the Common Entrance Test (CET) will be conducted to screen candidates for various government exams like the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Currently, these exams are being organized by different government bodies and with this new agency being set up the preliminary/screening exam for all 3 will be conducted by one.

Based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the CET a screening of candidates will be done. However, the final selection for any recruitment shall then be done through different specialized tests or examinations, to be organized by the respective recruitment agencies like IBPS, SSC, etc.
Currently, it takes the entire year if a candidate appears for all these exams but this new process will reduce this time. Also, this agency is set up to provide the same platform to all candidates and a new norm of equity and inclusiveness in recruitment
