National Science Day was celebrated by A N College Patna at the biotechnology department. The students and the faculty members of the department celebrated the day with great enthusiasm at the premises of college. A science exhibition was organized which depicted ‘biotechnological innovations in the service of mankind’. The theme of the event was ‘to raise public appreciation of scientific issues for the development of the nation’.
The function was inaugurated by the head of the department of statistics, Central University of South Bihar, Prof. Arun Kumar Sinha. Prof. Sinha who is also a former Patna University Vice-Chancellor called for the students to realize the importance of research and appealed to channelize their research in the positive direction and in the support of human welfare.
Prof. Sinha also told the students that ideas are vital for research and that not all research activities seek money.
National Science Day is celebrated every year to celebrate the discovery of Raman effect, realized by an Indian Physicist, Sir C.V. Raman.
