National Brain Research Centre (NBRC), Gurgaon invites applications for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program offered in Neuroscience for the session 2016.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have a master's degree or equivalent in any branch of science such as Life Sciences/ Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Statistics/ Computer applications/ Pharmacy/ Veterinary Science/ Psychology from a recognized institute/ university or a minimum of four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering/ Technology/ Medicine from a recognized institute/ university.
Candidates appearing for final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply.
Candidates with at least 55% (50% for SC/ ST/ PH candidates) marks or equivalent grade or grade point average from secondary (10th) examination onwards will be considered. Candidates should calculate their percentage up to two decimal points to determine their eligibility.
How to Apply
Candidates can also apply by offline mode. In order to obtain the application form, candidates should send a self-addressed A-4 size envelope affixed with Rs.22/- postage stamps to Registrar, National Brain Research Centre, Manesar-122051 Dist. Gurgaon (Haryana).
The application fee for general candidate is Rs.300/- (online), Rs.350/- (offline) and for SC/ST/PH candidates Rs.150/- (online); Rs.200/- (offline).
The application fee should be submitted by a demand draft drawn in favour of Director, National Brain Research Centre payable at Gurgaon or Manesar.

Candidates are selected through following channels for admissions.
Joint Graduate Entrance Examination for Biology and Interdisciplinary Life Sciences (JGEEBILS).
Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE-2015/GATE-2016) in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics and Communications Engineering/ Computer Science and Information Technology/ Instrumentation Engineering.
Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST) (2016).
CSIR/ UGC/ DBT/ ICMR examination for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Biology, Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics.
Candidates will be short-listed for a two-tier interview based on their performance in the above qualifying examinations.
