Since no one from the Union of India attended the previous hearing, the case has been postponed. Concerns about the standardization process and alleged discrepancies in the examination results have been raised by the petitioners. Petitions have also been filed regarding the lack of transparency in the exam marking process, the release of question papers and answer keys, and the raw scores of students.

The last hearing took place on September 30, 2024, the Supreme Court heard the petitions pointing out discrepancies and questioning the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) decision not to release the question papers, answer keys, and the exam marking scheme. On September 20, during which the CJI questioned the NBEMS about its decision to make last-minute changes to the exam pattern. Another hearing was scheduled for September 27, 2024, but has been tentatively postponed to October 4. The SC bench, led by CJI DY Chandrachud, addressed the matter on September 30, 2024. In the previous hearing on September 27, 2024, the CJI questioned the NBEMS's decision to make last-minute changes to the NEET PG 2024 exam pattern.
The CJI inquired about the reasons behind the changes being made just three days before the exam, stating that this action caused distress among students. The Supreme Court granted the NBEMS a week to respond to the query. Candidates who took the NEET PG exam can register for the counselling process on the official website at mcc.nic.in.
