NEET-PG is a mandatory entrance exam for gaining admission to Postgraduate Medical Courses. NEET-PG is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE).
Selection Process:
- Candidates must have a MBBS degree/Provisional MBBS Pass Certificate from a recognised Medical College or Institute approved by the Indian Medical Council Act.
- The candidates must possess either a permanent or provisional registration certificate of MBBS or equivalent qualification issued by the Medical Council of India or the State Medical Council.
- It is also expected from the candidate to have completed one year of internship as per the duration prescribed.
- Candidates who score the qualifying marks in the exam will be eligible for admission. Seats will be allotted strictly on the basis of merit.
Counselling process:
- Candidates who have qualified the NEET-PG exam are eligible to apply for the counselling process.
- Counseling for various categories of State quota seats will be conducted by the concerned State Medical Directorate or Counseling authority of the State, union territory, Medical College, Private Universities or Institutions.
- Candidates who fail to appear for the counselling after qualifying the exam will not be eligible for admission as seats are only allocated on the basis of counselling.
- Candidates must carry their original documents for verification during seat allocation. Paying the fee at the college assigned to the student is essential to secure the seat.
