National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Super Speciality (SS) courses will take place on June 10, 2017. Health Ministry made the announcement, and National Board of Examinations is conducting the examination.
The examination consists of 200 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and test is computer based. There is no paper and pen examination, and the candidates have to take the test only in online mode. The candidates who are going to appear for NEET-SS have to prepare MD/MS syllabus which has been prescribed by Medical Council of India (MCI).

NEET-SS is a single window examination which is being conducted for the admission to PDCC/ MCh/ DM courses. No other entrance examination will be carried out by the state governments or medical colleges or deemed universities for the admission to Super Speciality courses.
However, NEET-SS scores are not applicable for the admission to following institutions and these institutions carry out separate entrance examination. They are: -
- JIPMER, Pondicherry
- NIMHANS, Bangalore
- SRICHITRA, Trivandrum
- PGIMER, Chandigarh
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi

Recently, the central government took the decision that NEET 2017 will be conducted in regional languages. The centre took the decision after holding consultations with various states and Union Territories (UTs). As of now, NEET 2017 will be held in following languages:

- GujaratiBengali
- Assamese
- Hindi
- English
