NEET UG 2024 Application Form in January : The National Testing Agency will release the NEET UG 2024 application form in January for admission into UG Medical, Dental, and allied courses. As soon as the application form is out, it will be made available at neet.nta.nic.in . Aspiring candidates who want to appear for the NEET examination on May 5 , must fill out the application form to be allowed to sit for the test. Compared to 2022, over 18.87 lakh students registered for NEET UG in 2023. The number is expected to increase for medical, dental, and allied courses in 2024, based on the previous year’s trend.

NTA will also notify the rationalised NEET syllabus in 2024. It is likely to be announced by the next week so that the candidates get enough time to prepare for the entrance test as said by NTA Director General Subodh Kumar Singh.

The syllabus will be reduced and will be based on the suggestions provided by the National Medical Commission. Furthermore, opinions from various boards will also be taken into consideration during the formulation of the new syllabus.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training and the Central Board of Secondary Education had already decreased the syllabus for classes 9 to 12 due to COVID-19 academic disruption in 2020. However, no changes to JEE (Main), and NEET UG syllabus were brought into effect. Finally, a rationalized syllabus will be implemented in 2024 to reduce the pressure on students. Once the new syllabus is released, candidates will be able to focus only on important topics, and complete preparation till the exam day.

Those students who outperform their competitors will be able to secure seats under the State quota (85%) and the All India quota (15%) in government medical colleges.
