The alumni association of Indian Institute of Mass Communication-IIMC Nepal Chapter has been inaugurated. Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri, Indian Ambassador officially opened the first meet of the alumni association- "Connections 2019" on 7th September 2019. The inauguration took place in Kathmandu.
IIMC director-general, KS Dhatwalia, and IIMC alumni from both India and Nepal were a part of the event. According to the reports, 1600 students have studied from IIMC Nepal out of which 80 students residing in Nepal attended Connections-2019.
Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri, Indian Ambassador addressed the audience on the occasion. During his address, he informed that the premier institution like IIMC will help boost connections between India and Nepal. He also pointed out that the commonality between India and Nepal has continued despite the changes witnessed in various aspects.

IIMC Director General, KS Dhatwalia who was also a part of the event emphasized the importance of such connections. He said that the exchanges of view, experiences, and ideas from time to time will increase efficiency and will benefit both the countries. A short documentary on the Indian Institute of Mass Communication was also screened at the event.
The Nepal Chapter of IIMC Alumni- Connections 2019 helped boost people to people links between India and Nepal. It will also provide a platform for journalists of both countries to share experiences and views. Such events also help promote industry connections among the two countries.
