After rejection of the last scheme introduced by centre, Telangana Chief Minister, K. Chandrasekhar Rao has some work pending on his desk. He wants to take a relook at the future of model schools in the state and come up with a new scheme accordingly.
In order, Mr Rao has directed the Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari and Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma to take up an all-inclusive study to to reform the education sector and bring in a new policy.
The CM observed that the present education system was lacking the ability to convert students into employees, He suggested that the new policy to be framed should keep in mind the employability aspect. Besides, he observed that the students were not being prepared to suit the employment needs as the State and Central governments focused only on the employment tests held by the Public Service Commissions .
He also handed over the supervision of all types of educational institutions in one hand, to the Education Department, making exception to medical, agricultural and pharmaceutical institutions.
