JEE Main 2022: To administer the JEE Main and Advanced Examinations, which are conducted for admission into institutions like IITs, NITs, and other central government-financed institutions, the Ministry of Education, India has established a new 19-member board called as JEE Apex Board, or JAB for short. The Education Ministry of India has formed JAB to replace the previous working boards in order to make the JEE Main and JEE Advanced systems more transparent and efficient now that the tenure of the earlier board ended on March 31, 2022.
As per the notice issued by the Education Ministry of India, the JEE Apex Board has been formed to ensure the smooth conduct of the Joint Entrance Exams (Mains and Advanced) in 2022 and 2023. The first phase of JEE Main 2022 will begin on June 20. Check JEE Main 2022 Revised Schedule Here.
JAB will be led by the former director of IIT Madras, Professor Bhaskar Ramamurthy. Other members of JAB are the directors from IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Bangalore, IIT Jaipur, IIT Rourkela, IITDM Kurnool, and NIT Nagpur.

The rest of the members of JAB constitute representatives from the states of Bihar, Gujarat, Haryana, and Karnataka, extending to the Chairman of CBSE, Director General of C-DAC, Director General of NIC, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, and Director-General of the Education Ministry and National Examinations as well as the Joint/Additional Secretary of the Ministry.
According to the notice, JEE Apex Board (JAB) would have a Permanent Secretariat that will be appointed by the National Examination Agency. For the admissions for 2022 and 2023, JAB will be the final authority to decide on policies and norms governing the administration of JEE Main Examination. Apart from that, JAB will also collaborate with the JEE Advanced Group and its Chairman for the conduction of the examination.
