The center has made some changes in the admission process of Postgraduate seats in dental and medical colleges. As per the new norms, only 10% of seats are applicable for ‘Institutional Preference’ in private medical and dental colleges.
Revised Guidelines: -
- 50% of PG medical and dental seats come under convener quota.
- The seats under convener quota to be filled as per NEET-MDS and NEET-PG merit.
- The remaining 50% of medical or dental seats come under management quota.
- The seats that come under management quota are filled by Committee for Admissions.

Division of Management Quota Seats: -
The management quota seats are sub-divided into three categories: -
Category 1: 25% of medical or dental seats come under General Merit. The admission under General Merit is based on NEET ranking.
Category 2: 15% of medical seats are applicable for foreign or NRI candidates. These candidates will get admission based on their merit in NEET.
Category 3: 10% of medical or dental seats come under ‘Institutional Preference’.

Quota by Rotation: -
- From the academic session 2017-18, if there is only one seat available in the specialty, the seat will come under management quota.
- However, the same seat will come under convener quota in 2018-19.
- The allotment of seat will be alternated in the subsequent years.
- In the same way, if there are three seats in specialty, one seat come under convener quota, one seat under management quota.
- The third seat will come under management quota in the year 2017-18, and under convener quota in 2018-19.
Unfilled Seats: -
- If there are any vacant seats after the final phase of counseling, the seats will be retained by the management of respective colleges.
- Reservation is not applicable for the seats that come under management quota.
