Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS), Rohtak is coming up with a skills centre for training of nurses, doctors and paramedical staff for emergency situation or trauma situations. The courses will be offered at the centre from next academic session 2017 onwards.

Sharing the details a spokesperson of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said the proposal to this effect has been approved by the Chief Minister. Earlier a team from Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India visited the institute and approved the proposed project. The Union Ministry will offer INR 2.60 crore for setting up the centre.
The spokesperson also said that the Central Government will also help the Haryana Government in training nurses, doctors and paramedical personnel in dealing with emergency situations. A Memorandum of Understanding will be singed soon between the following entities:
- Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
- Directorate General of Health Services (Emergency Medical Relief)
- Director PGIMS, Rohtak
- Haryana State government
PGIMS, Rohtak is located at a distance of 70 km from Delhi and 240 km from Chandigarh on Delhi-Hissar-Sirsa-Fazilka National Highway (NH-10) was established in 1960. Later on, the institute was developed as the fully developed research and medical education centre.

PGIMS, Rohtak is one of the major institutions for Medical Education and Research in north India catering not only to the people of Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Western UP and Delhi but also people from several neighbouring countries of India.
