The results of Design Aptitude Test (DAT) 2017 Prelim examinations for Master of Design (MDes) conducted by National Institute of Design (NID) have been declared. Candidates appearing for the programme can find out their result online by login through registered account.

Similarly, the NID DAT (Prelims) result for GDPD and B.Des courses are to be declared on 28th February 2017. The results will be declared for both the courses on the official website of National Institute of Design.
NID Entrance Exam for different design courses is conducted in two stages -
- A. NID DAT (Prelims)
- B. NID DAT (Mains)
Aspiring candidates appearing for the entrance test have to clear three stages of examinations:
- NID DAT
- Studio Test
- Personal Interview
National Institute of Design (NID) selects candidates bases on their performance in NID Design Aptitude Test to various design programmes offered at NID. After that, the candidates have to appear for the main test examinations. The prelim is a written pen and paper based test. There are two sections – Part A and Part B. Part A questions are basically objective questions whereas the Part B questions are subjective type questions.

The main exam comprises mainly a Studio Test and Interview round. Candidates who clear both the examinations are offered admission at colleges accepting NID entrance exam scores for admission.
There are 100 seats for B.Des programmes and 275 seats for M.Des programmes at NID.
Graduate Diploma Programme in Design (GDPD) of NID are offered at NID Kurukshetra and NID Vijayawada campus.
Merit List 1 for M. Des will be declared on 2nd May 2017 and Merit List 1 for B. Des will be declared on 31st May 2017.
