The National Institute of Design (NID) has issued a notification in which it has informed that all its campuses will now be offering B.Des (Bachelor of Design) degree programmes. Before this, the newly established NIDs which include NID Assam, NID Andhra Pradesh, NID Haryana, and NID Madhya Pradesh offered GDPD (Graduate Diploma Programme in Design) programmes to the students who cleared the NID Entrance Exam . However, the course of GDPD will be discontinued now and all the GDPD seats will be converted to B.Des seats.
NID B.Des Seat Intake for All Campuses 2020
The table given below provides the seat intake of all campuses of NID which will now provide the course of B.Des. The total seats at each campus for all the specialisations of B.Des have been given.

Major Changes in NID Admissions 2020
There have been some major changes in the NID admission process of 2020. All the changes were introduced primarily due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country. Some of the main changes in the admission process of NID for the academic session of 2020 - 2021 have been listed here.
NID Admission Criteria for B.Des and GDPD Admissions 2020
The NID Admission Cell altered the weightage allocated to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains to create the merit list for B.Des and GDPD admissions. The table given below provides the new and the old weightage given to both of these exams and the revised admission criteria of B.Des at NID .

NID Admission Criteria for M.Des Admissions 2020
One of the major changes in the M.Des admission process of NID 2020 was that NID DAT Mains 2020 was conducted in the online mode. The NID Admission Cell also changed the weightage that was allocated to NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains for creating the final result and merit list for M.Des (Master of Design) admissions.
