National Institute of Fashion and Technology (NIFT) Bhubaneswar conducted its sixth convocation 1st August 2018. Over 179 students from six disciplines were awarded degrees during the convocation ceremony.
During the ceremony, eight students received gold medals. Swapnil Pateria won the student of the year award while Aman Raj was given the NIFT extraordinary award. Apart from this, the institute also awarded one best performance academic award in each department. The students expressed their happiness and shared stories about their journey at the NIFT campus.
Ganeshi Lal, Governor of Odisha graced the event with his presence and congratulated the graduating students during the event. While addressing the students, he talked about how NIFT plays an important role in building the Indian textile and fashion industry and taking it to a global level.

Sanjay Shrivastava, Director, NIFT Bhubaneswar said that in a short span of time, the institute has managed to make its place in the top 10 fashion institutes of India. He further talked about achieving a 100% placement record along with many international offers for the students. Many students are also availing the benefits of Startup India and startup Odisha.

Meanwhile, NIFT Bhubaneswar has redesigned their curriculum in order to re-align NIFT courses with the world-class standard and to meet the demands of the future in the respective industry.
