National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Hyderabad celebrated its 14th Foundation Day on 10th November 2020. The Foundation Day was held virtually and the chief guests for the occasion were VK K Saraswat, Padma Bhushan, Member, NITI Aayog, Chancellor, JNU, and Former DG, DRDO. Renu Swarup, Secretary, DBT, Chairperson, BIRAC.
Shashi Bala Singh, the Director of NIPER Hyderabad, welcomed all the guests. During her address, she presented a report on the NIPER's journey and achievements so far. The annual report of the institute was released by the chief guest.
Renu Swarup, Secretary, DBT, Chairperson, BIRAC talked about the importance of the Pharmaceutical sector in the current research and development. According to her, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research plays a vital role in contributing towards the healthcare sector during the crisis and COVID-19 is an example of the same.
VK K Saraswat during his address said that pharmaceutical professionals will play an important role in the healthcare industry at a global level. Indian pharmaceutical research institutes will and industries will play a critical role in the global Pharma market. He also talked about Pharma 4.0 which will focus on making India self-reliant in dealing with the transformation of date from knowledge. This will also provide Pharma Professional with an opportunity in terms of research and job prospects.
