NIT Calicut has announced admission for the eligible candidates for its part-time as well as external and internal Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme commencing from the academic session 2016. The programme is offered in the following disciplines:

- Biotechnology
- Civil Engineering
- Nanoscience and Technology
- Computer Science and Engineering

Eligibility Criteria for NIT Calicut PhD Programmes:
Candidates applying for PhD Engineering must be holding MTech degree in technology/ engineering with minimum 60 per cent marks while for the SC/ ST candidates, the minimum marks is 55 percent. (For General Category candidates CGPA 6.5/10 and for SC/ST candidates CGPA 6.0/10).
Or
Candidates must have passed the four-year regular full-time B Tech /BE degree with a minimum 60 per cent marks in the qualifying examination.
Or
Candidates with Bachelor's degree in civil engineering must have 90 percent marks from a recognised institute or university while for the ST and SC candidates it is 80 percent marks (For General candidates it is 9.0 CGPA and for the ST/SC its 8.0 CGPA) with a valid GATE score.
Or
Candidates applying for PhD Architecture programme must be holding a Master's degree in architecture/ planning/ design /technology/ engineering or its equivalent with minimum 60 per cent marks while for the SC/ ST candidates, the minimum marks is 55 percent. (For General Category candidates CGPA 6.5/10 and for SC/ST candidates CGPA 6.0/10).
Or
The candidates must have minimum 60 per cent marks in Bachelor's and Master's degrees while for the SC/ST candidates it is 55 per cent.
Selection Procedure for NIT Calicut PhD Programmes:
The respective departments will conduct a written test followed by an interview. Deserving candidates will be selected on the basis of the mark obtained in the test and interview.
