Recent Update: NLAT 2020 has been cancelled by the Supreme Court and NLSIU will accept CLAT 2020 for its admissions. Check the detailed news of NLAT 2020 cancellation here. CLAT 2020 was successfully held today, on Sepctember 28, 2020, from 2 pm to 4 pm.
The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) , or NLU Bangalore, had decided to conduct a re-test of NLAT 2020 . After a significant number of students who appeared for NLAT 2020 on September 12, 2020 faced technical difficulties during the conduct of the law entrance exam , a Technical Review Committee of NLSIU recommended for such candidates to appear for one more exam slot.
Many candidates raised objections to the technical incompetence of NLAT 2020 and sent emails to NLSIU. The university reverted to all of those emails saying the Technical Review Committee has decided to organise another slot for the exam on September 14, 2020. All the candidates who mailed NLSIU regarding this issue till the midnight of September 13, 2020 could appear for the re-examination.
According to the emails sent by NLSIU, the re-test of NLAT 2020 for the selected candidates was to be held on September 14, 2020 from 12:30 pm. The verification process for the same started at 12 noon sharp. The email also stated that if a candidate chooses to appear for the exam again, his/ her previous exam score and answers will be erased and the marks scored in the re-test only will be considered valid.

The candidates who did not log in and appear for the exam on September 14 were to be given marks on their exam conducted on September 12 and that had to be considered their final score. The log in details and other information was revealed to the candidates later on September 13, 2020. The re-examination of NLAT 2020 has been conducted successfully and NLSIU affirms this was the final attempt.
NLAT 2020 was conducted on September 12, 2020 in three shifts. The National Law School of India University held its own entrance exam this year and opted out of CLAT 2020 . NLSIU wanted to finish its admission process for the academic session of 2020-21 as soon as possible so that it could commence its classes for the first trimester. As the law school has three terms in a year unlike the other National Law Universities (NLUs) that have just two, the postponing of CLAT 2020 meant that NLSIU would not have enough time left to complete its syllabus.
