The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) will no more conduct interviews for the selection of candidates for its Post Graduate (PG) courses. Earlier, EFLU conducted entrance exam (70 marks) and interview (30 marks) to select candidates for PG courses. As per the latest decision, the varsity scrapped the interview, and will only conduct entrance exam for PG admissions. The selection of students will be based on his/ her performance in EFLU PG entrance test.
A total of 15 postgraduate courses are offered by EFLU which includes MA in English, Computational Linguistics, Journalism and Mass Communication, German, French, Arabic, Russian and Chinese. The admission process for these courses shall be based on the entrance test from the academic session 2019-20. Professor and Vice-Chancellor, EFLU, E Suresh Kumar, said that the initiative would be student-friendly and it will also make a path for more students to take admission in the various courses offered by EFLU.

Professor also added that earlier, a number of students could not take admission because they used to get disqualified in the Interview round. As the interview has been scrapped for PG admissions, more students will qualify for admission in various programmes of EFLU. Candidates appearing for the undergraduate courses will follow the same selection pattern as before.

Apart from this, the administrative authorities of EFLU have also changed the pattern of entrance exam conducted for the Ph.D. programmes. The Ph.D. entrance pattern previously included Subjective and Objective Questions for the written test and the candidates qualifying the written test were called for the Interview round for the final selection. After the changes made to the exam pattern of the written test, the Subjective questions have been deleted and the candidates will now answer only the objective questions followed by the round of Personal Interview.
