The University of Mumbai registration process for UG and PG courses for the academic session 2018-19 is underway. So far, 8.6 lakh candidates have submitted the applications for various courses offered by MU. The total number of applications received this year was less than last year (12.1 lakh applications).
Deputy Registrar of Mumbai University, Mr. Leeladhar Bansod revealed that the final count is not yet out, as the admissions are yet to commence for the academic session 2018-19. The varsity is planning to extend the last date for submitting the online application form for UG and PG courses.

Continuing the trend, B.Com course received a maximum number of applications this year. So far, 2.5 lakh students registered for B.Com course this year. The number is expected to increase in the coming days. Apart from B.Com course, BMS course received 1.5 lakh applications this year.
Among various specializations in B.Com course, Accounting and Finance emerged as the most sought-after course this year. In all, B.Com course is expected to emerge as the most preferred course among the students. One of the major reasons for greater demand for B.Com course is chances of being employed in top companies after graduation. On the other hand, B.Com is extremely scoring subject.

Apart from B.Com and BMS courses, B.Sc in Information Technology emerged as another sought-after course in various specializations of Bachelor of Science . B.Sc IT, which is in great demand, received 93,406 applications. B.Sc in Biotechnology course is also slowly gaining momentum this year.
