JEE Advanced 2018 results , which were out on June 10, 2018, recorded the lowest pass percentage in the last seven years. The organising committee of JEE Advanced 2018 exam , i.e., IIT Kanpur pointed that the error-free JEE Advanced 2018 question paper regulated the need for awarding grace marks this year.
A total number of 18,138 candidates have qualified JEE Advanced 2018 against 1.55 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam. IIT Officials have recorded a drop in the number of students who qualified the exam. As a result, they are worried that a larger number of seats may remain vacant after JoSAA Counselling 2018 . The officials have anticipated that the vacant seats at IITs may be larger in 2018 as it has been rising since the past three years. An emergency meeting will be conducted to discuss the same.
There are a total of 11,279 seats in all the IITs and the last rank at which the counselling was closed was somewhere below 14,000. Last year, a total of 50,455 candidates had cleared JEE Advanced. Hence, this year, there has been a dip in the number of students who made it to the JEE Advanced 2018 all-India rank list.
