Gujarat University overlooked the unenthusiastic response of college principals and started the distribution of PIN and booklet for centralised admission to arts and commerce colleges in the State on Wednesday, 1st June 2016. The number of arts admission booklets sold till Wednesday evening was 462.
"Admission to around 9,000 seats in 26 arts and arts and commerce colleges in the city will commence online. Of these, 8,500 seats are with Gujarati medium and 500 with English medium," said Jayesh Solanki, Coordination Team member. He also informed that the PIN and booklet can be purchased from HDFC Bank by paying Rs 150.

13th June – Announcement of Provisional Merit list
16th June – Announcement of First Merit list
21st June and onwards – Academic session commences
On the other hand, GU's committee that is monitoring online admission for Bachelor of Commerce courses informed that they have sold 23,000 PINs till present and 1,750 students have already registered.
Saurabh Choksi, Head, Online Admission Monitoring team at GU said, “The process has begun only for students of education boards apart from Gujarat board. We are waiting to get the CD of marks from the board.”
"Wednesday was the last day of purchasing booklets and PINs and around 15,000 students had already registered online till evening. Thursday is the last day for online registration. In all, there are 7,500 seats in GU-affiliated science colleges," said BK Jain, principal of MG Science College. He is leads the science admission team for GU colleges and informed that 17,000 PINs and booklets were sold till Wednesday EOD.
