Jamia Millia Islamia university launched the online admission process last year and received a record of 49,148 applications for over 6,000 seats.
Jamia Millia Islamia came into existence in1920 through the tireless efforts of its founders, such as Shaikhul Hind Maulana Mahmud Hasan, Maulana Muhammad Ali Jauhar, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, Jenab Abdul Majeed Khwaja and Dr. Zakir Husain. It symbolizes the unflinching and resolute commitment of these great visionaries in bringing about socio-economic transformation of common masses, in general, and Muslims, in particular through the vehicle of education. The distinct identity of Jamia Millia Islamia has been eloquently explicated by Dr. Zakir Husain Sahib,
Amir Afaque Ahmad Faizi, Controller of Examinations, Jamia says, "Every year, around 20,000 students appear for examinations of various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses. The process used to be manual earlier. However, from this year, we will do it online and the new portal has been launched for the same.
Except the pattern of manual examination, the university will now compute the results online.
"Since the examination mode is subjective we can't do that in online mode and hence the evaluation also has to be manual but rest of the process will be online," HE said.
The web portal is developed and managed by the university students only.
Fazi said, "The homework for the same was done by a student team and it is for network security issues we had to rope in professional help.
