Osmania University has collaborated with Educational Consultants of India Limited (EdCIL) to attract foreign students on its campus. The collaboration with EdCIL will help the varsity to increase its reach to foreign countries.
The EdCIL website will have all the information related to the university such as courses offered, NAAC, NIRF and the rankings of the university, faculty, infrastructure, fees, admission procedure etc. Students can apply through EdCIL after which their applications will be directly sent to the university.

Over the years, the university has witnessed a decline in foreign student admissions. According to the records, the number of foreign students studying in Osmania University has gone down to 1,666 in 2016 to 1,119 from 87 countries in 2017. The reason behind the decline is the strict visa norms by the Union government and current conditions prevailing in Middle East countries such as Yemen, Syria, and Iraq.
However, university officials are hopeful that they will be able to bring more students from the Middle East and other countries through this initiative. Foreign students who wish to pursue higher education in OU cab do the same through EdCIL.
The university administration is planning to establish a new building for the University Foreign Relations Officer and a girl’s hostel for foreign students.
