Osmania University is all set to conduct re-exam for some of the subjects of B.Sc course from June 28 to July 30, 2018. On June 05, 2018, at least 87,000 B.Sc answer sheets were damaged due to a fire mishap in the coding room where the answer sheets were preserved. A committee constituted by the varsity to conduct a probe into the matter recommended a re-exam for some of the B.Sc subjects. The varsity has no other option except to go for a re-exam.
All the students of B.Sc course except for students booked under malpractices will have to appear for the re-exam in the same exam centres with the hall tickets that were issued earlier. The schedule for re-exam is available on the official website of the varsity now. The varsity will also send the timetable for the re-exam to all the affiliated colleges. Students need not pay an examination fee for the re-exam.

After the investigation, the committee figured out that the answer sheets were not only damaged due to the fire mishap but also because of the water used to douse the fire. Both the causes attributed to the damage of answer sheets, which forced the varsity to conduct the re-exam. The committee further suggested the varsity to revamp the infrastructure and implement safety and security measures at the coding centre to prevent such instances/ damages in future.
