Osmania University post-graduate students are giving preference to government jobs in the state itself. The OU PG students are more focused on looking for government jobs rather than opting for Central government jobs and moving out of the state.
The university officials informed that a large number of PG students from the university are showing interest in the government jobs. One of the main reason behind this shift is due to the tough competition in examinations. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) exams are getting tougher day by day as the number of students qualifying the national level exams such as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) and National Eligibility Test (NET) has gone up as compared to previous years.
