The Osmania University (OU) is pondering to conduct its UG (undergraduate) examinations in the second week of the month of June. As per the reports, the examination branch of the varsity will issue a notification indicating the same within two or three days. The notice will be made available to access on the official website of the Osmania University.
The examinations of the UG programmes will commence in the second week of June and will extend until the end of July. The administration of Osmania University is planning a revised schedule for the PG programmes (postgraduate). The exams for the PG courses are expected to begin in the second week of July.
Along with Osmania University, many exams have either been cancelled or postponed amid the COVID-19 outbreak in the nation.
Osmania University has lost several working days due to the outbreak of the highly contagious coronavirus and nation-wide lockdown. This is the reason why the university is considering to conduct the exams even on Sundays. The revised schedule of the exams and the university’s decision regarding the commencement of exams will completely rely on the government’s decision on the coronavirus lockdown.

Dr. Sriram Venkatesh, the examination controller of OU, commented on the matter and said backlog and main exams for UG students are being mulled to be conducted in the second week of June. The PG exam will accelerate in July, once the major UG exam ends. He also claims that a clear notification will be out in a day or two regarding the same.
Dr. Venkatesh also talked about maintaining precautionary measures during exams. He informed that students will have to maintain a physical distance of one metre during the exams. He also said that if needed, the number of centres will be increased and more physical distancing will be practised during the examination.
Osmania University has also declared the advance summer vacation for the PG programmes. Students will have a vacation from 11th May 2020 till 7th June 2020. The PG programmes applicable for vacation are MSc , MA , MSW , MCom , MLibISc, MCJ, MPEd , MBA etc.

Meanwhile, considering the rising cases, the Telangana government is the first one to extend the lockdown until 29th May 2020.
