- Quality of Faculty
Panjab University was able to improve its performance immensely, except under alumni employment. Under quality of education, the varsity was able to jump to the 433rd position from last years 620th position. Meanwhile, under the research performance category, the University was able to take up the 779th position. Where it lacked was the employment of alumni, where the varsity lost its position and ranked at 587 from previous year’s 566th rank.
As per the statements made by Panjab University, the Centre for World University Rankings has used objective parameters, wherein they did not depend on surveys and data submissions from the varsity. They further questioned the transparency of the QS World Rankings and the survey conducted by them to rank the institutions. Sources state that Panjab University was not able to bag a position under the QS World Rankings Top 1000 Global University for two years successively. Due to their absence from the QS World Rankings, the sources state that the Government of India could not provide the varsity with the tag of Institute of Eminence.
