Pearl Academy and SETU Foundation’s partnership has led to the empowerment of women and improved their chance to earn a better livelihood. As a result of this partnership, 25 women have completed their 4-month long certificate courses in design, pattern making, and construction skills. To mark the occasion, Pearl Academy’s Noida campus organized a convocation ceremony where certificates were awarded to the women who completed the course.
At the convocation, a fashion show was also held wherein the final creations of these women were showcased to highlight the beginning of their paths as design professionals. Top three performing students of the course received trophies as well for their excellent performance.

Pearl Academy collaborated with SETU two years ago as a part of its CSR initiative. SETU Foundation is a Noida based NGO which works in the field for education and employment of underprivileged and disabled. Pearl academy trained women from SETU in specialized skills to help them get better job opportunities. Pearl has also been involved in providing skill-based and specialized training to women trainers who work on ‘train the trainer’ model to teach skills to women through a certificate course. From the last batch, 23 women were able to successfully complete a 3-month certificate course in June 2018.

Nandita Abraham, Pearl Academy’s President said that the institute is involved in supporting the education of society. They have been working with SETU for two years and look forward to training many more women and empower them with skills so that they can start a career in this field.
