After a slow start at the placements in 2016, IIT Delhi has made a fast recovery this season. The institute bagged more than 130 offers from different organizations during the first day of placements and a 100 more on the second day. According to the Training and Placement Cell, IIT Delhi, the institute has bagged more than 230 offers.

The statement also mentioned that more than 20 students received international offers within the first two days of placement. Most of the high packages were offered by large organizations from the consulting, financial, IT and engineering sectors. Some of the offers also came from large PSUs and other government organizations.
The institute got 110 pre-placement offers that were extended based on the students’ performance during internships. 70 such offers were accepted by students. More than 10 students opted for the deferred placement programme to enhance their entrepreneurial skills and learn about startups. Students will have to undergo screening and a rigorous process basis which they will be selected for this programme.
The statement also added that over 270 organisations have registered for placements and will be arriving for campus placements. The institute expects that more than 400 more jobs will be rolled out. The Training and Placement Cell is in talks with more organizations that can participate in campus placement.

According to the reports from various IITs, the number of offers made at different campuses is less than last year but the placements have been promising and the institutes expect that they will get more offers from PSUs and other big organizations like Microsoft that has offered the highest package i.e. Rs.1.5 Crores.
