NEET PG 2022 is running into one obstacle after another. There have been several requests to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare by prominent groups and people to postpone the NEET PG Exam this year by 8 to 10 weeks in order to conduct a smoother and better national level entrance exam.
After the All India Medical Students’ Association sent their letter to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the Government of India, now a Member of Parliament, Shri Hibi Eden has also sent a letter to Shri Mansukh Mandviya urging him to intervene and postpone the NEET PG 2022 exam by at least 2 months in order to appeal to the prurient interest of junior doctors who will be appearing for the exam.

He has listed his reasons for asking for the postponement as follows:
- The NEET PG 2021 Counselling will be over by May 3, 2022. With the number of hitches this counselling has run into, the date seems way too hopeful. Moreover, this will be followed by the counsellings that will take place in different states, thereby taking up 2 more weeks at the least. This will clash with the scheduled date of the NEET PG test this year. The junior doctors supposed to appear for the exam this year will hence face unimaginable stress and career anxiety and will be unable to prepare well for the exam.
- Around 5000 interns from all over India have been deemed ineligible to appear for NEET PG 2022 on the basis of their not having completed their mandatory 12 months of rotatory internship. This happened because they were instructed to help in Covid-19 ward duties due to a shortage of staff in most hospitals. It would be unfair to not let them sit for the test under these circumstances.
Eden suggests postponement of the exam by 2 months. He has also called to allow all candidates to appear for the exam.
