Power Grid Corporation of India and Jindal Institute of Leadership Development & Executive Education (JILDEE) of Sonipat-based OP Jindal Global University (JGU) have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which is for a period of five years for the exchange of intellectual and infrastructure resources.

The agreement involves conducting and designing custom and specific management development programmes for senior officers of Power Grid.
The scope of the cooperation between the two will also cover areas like -
- Consultancy
- Joint research and conferences
- Summer internship
- International assignments
- Case writing
Prof. Raj of JGU, speaking on the occasion on leadership development, said that the programmes use a multidisciplinary approach and prepare the senior leaders to take critical strategic decisions. It also supports the aim of the programme to train and equip the leaders of tomorrow so that they lead their organisations, society and the nation towards a better future.
Senior Director of Power Grid Lt Gen Dr. Rajesh Kochhar (Retd), said that the world is constantly changing and it is imperative that collaborations become the need of the time so that a new breed of leadership can prevail. This will not only eventually take on this dynamic world but will also serve the purpose of achieving its goal to find out modules and train employees with the right skills. This understanding between the two institutes is just the start of a fruitful academic journey.

As per the MoU, both the entities will also undertake a variety of joint research and conferences in areas of mutual benefit and interest. Under the collaborative agreement, POWERGRID will select senior employees and officers for both executive general management as well as certificate programmes at JGU. Faculty members for the modules that will be introduced will include-
- Leading industry experts
- Faculty members of JGU
- Academicians and Government officials from both India and abroad
