The popular yoga guru Ramdev has revealed his plans to establish a university in India that will match the levels of the best universities in the world. The university will be ready in the next five years, he said and will provide education to over one lakh students in various streams.
As per reports, 1,500-acre land has been acquired for the establishment of the university.
During his address on ‘Yoga and Inner Peace’ event in Houston on August 23, Ramdev said that his institution will be no less than the Ivy League universities.

Ramdev also said that he will build this university near the national capital and the cost of the project is estimated to be about Rs. 25,000 crores.
The vision behind developing the university will be to develop an education environment that will be as valued as the higher education provided by ancient universities like Nalanda and Takshila in medieval times. Learning environment as rich as these universities will attract students from all over the world to come and study here.
Being an advocate of traditional education, Ramdev also informed that he has requested PMO and MHRD to introduce a Vedic education board at both state and national level so that the Gurukul tradition of education can be revived.
Business, health, and education are the domains that the university will focus on. Ramdev has also announced that he will donate 100% of his profit from the sale of Patanjali Ayurveda’s herbal and food products of which 80% donation will be for education.
