Presidency University Signs MoU with Singapore Institute to Train 30 Civil Servants

Presidency University Signs MoU with Singapore Institute to Train 30 Civil Servants

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Presidency University, West Bengal and Lee Kaun Yew School of Public Policy, Singapore. The purpose is to train 30 top civil servants in West Bengal. Debojyoti Konar, Registrar of Presidency University revealed that 30 civil servants not below the rank of joint secretary would be trained. Each institute will have to provide training to the officers for a week.

Debojyoti Konar further revealed that Lee Kaun Yew School of Public Policy is one of the reputed institutes in the world, and the collaboration with such a reputed institution will add on to the reputation of Presidency University. The varsity will continue its collaboration with Lee Kaun Yew School of Public Policy. The collaborative executive programme by the two institutes is first of its kind in West Bengal.

The training programme will commence after two months. The course deals with public policy matters and offers comparative perspectives from other South East Asian countries. The state government will choose the 30 officers for this programme.

Debojyoti Konar also indicated that Presidency University would also exchange ideas with Lee Kaun Yew School of Public Policy. Presidency University is aiming to set up School of Public Policy on its campus in future. Therefore, exchanging ideas will help the varsity to formulate the plan for setting up the same.

Both the institutes signed the MoU on June 14, 2017. Top-level representatives from Lee Kaun Yew School of Public Policy were present. Vice-Chancellor of Presidency University, Anuradha Lohia was also present on the occasion.
