Shri Ram College of Commerce (University of Delhi) , that completes its 90 years of existence opened its celebration ceremony formally at Vigyan Bhawan, on February 20, 2017. The inauguration of the event was undertaken by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee.
The college had its humble beginning in 1926 from a small rented building in Old Delhi. Now after 90 years, it is one the leading college of North Campus of Delhi University. It has been recently awarded an A+ recognization by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

- Prof Yogesh K Tyagi, Vice-Chancellor, University of Delhi
- Dr. RP Rustagi, Principal of the College
Ajay S Shriram welcomed all the guests and recalled the contributions made by several stakeholders, how their contribution has carried forward the agenda of excellence over these 90 years. Vice Chancellors of the University, congratulating the college on the occasion, urged all the students to pursue their goals in life with renewed energy.
Arun Jaitley, who is the Finance Minister of the country is also a part of the alumni of the college. He recalled his college days and exclaimed how it helped him transform his life and career. The minister also released a commemorative medallion to mark the celebration and later presented a copy of it to President Mukherjee.

The President in his speech mentioned the importance of learning that shows a practical and realistic approach to life. Over the decades, the college has been able to meet the essential requirement of connecting education to the need of the nation. In the field business and economics, it has developed professional skills and livelihood.
